ÜTS (Product Tracking System)
Developed in 2017 by Turkey's Ministry of Health, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, and the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, the product tracking system enables effective monitoring and control of medical devices and cosmetic products throughout their entire process, from production to the end user.
What is the Product Tracking System?
The product tracking system is a mandatory infrastructure that enables detailed monitoring and control of all medical devices and cosmetic products—whether manufactured in Turkey or imported—from the production line to the end user.
Who is Required to Use the Product Tracking System?
The product tracking system is a legally mandatory application for many businesses and professions.
Medical Device Manufacturers: Companies that manufacture medical devices or import them from abroad are required to use the product tracking system. Sales transactions following production or import must also be reported to the product tracking system.
Hospitals and Clinics: Clinics and hospitals must be registered with ÜTS in order to procure medical supplies.
Pharmacies: Pharmacies and clinics are required to be registered with ÜTS in order to procure medical supplies.
Distributors and Retailers: Companies engaged in import or manufacturing activities must register with the product tracking system and report their inventory.
Cosmetics Companies: Companies that import or manufacture and sell medical devices or cosmetic products are required to register with the product tracking system and report their products.
Eyewear and Optical Companies: Optical companies acting as distributors, importers, manufacturers, or retailers are required to report their inventory movements to the ministry.
